Sales Director

We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and results-driven Director of Sales to lead and execute the sales strategy for our vibrant Independent Living community, Vancouver Pointe located in Vancouver, WA. The Director of Sales plays a critical role in building relationships, generating qualified leads, and guiding prospective residents and their families through the decision-making process. This position is responsible for achieving occupancy and revenue targets by executing the community’s marketing and sales plan while delivering an exceptional experience to prospects, residents, and referral partners.

We are looking for a dynamic professional who combines strong sales expertise with a passion for serving seniors and creating meaningful community connections.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Performance & Occupancy Growth

  • Achieve and maintain established occupancy and revenue goals in alignment with the community’s marketing and business plans.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing, ensuring a high conversion rate of qualified prospects.
  • Conduct community tours and personalized consultations with prospective residents and families.
  • Guide prospects through the decision-making process by understanding their needs and demonstrating how the community’s services, lifestyle, and amenities meet those needs.

Lead Management & CRM

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information within the CRM.
  • Track prospect interactions, manage follow-up activities, and utilize the CRM to maximize sales effectiveness.
  • Perform daily outreach and follow-up with leads within the prospect database.

Business Development & Relationship Building

  • Conduct regular outside sales and business development visits to build referral relationships.

Marketing & Event Planning

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute monthly marketing events, prospect gatherings, and referral partner activities.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team and community leadership to develop strategies that increase awareness and drive qualified leads.
  • Partner with the Marketing team in reviewing and recommending marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, press releases, and digital content.

Customer Experience

  • Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from prospective residents, families, and referral partners.
  • Ensure every prospect interaction reflects the community’s commitment to service and hospitality.
  • Provide detailed information about community services, amenities, pricing, and availability.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Proven sales and marketing expertise including lead generation, consultative selling, and closing techniques.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to establish trust with seniors, families, and professional partners.
  • Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with CRM platforms and lead management systems.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience, preferably within senior living, retirement communities, hospitality, or healthcare-related industries.
  • Demonstrated success in generating, nurturing, and closing qualified leads.
  • Experience with Yardi and CRM systems strongly preferred.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • This is an on-site position within the community.
  • Standard hours are typically Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Evening and weekend availability will be required for community events, prospect engagements, or special circumstances.
